Cookie policy

Which cookies we use, why, and how to give or withdraw your consent.

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies the GenieUs website uses (including the client account and the learner app), why we use them and how you can control your choices. Our use of cookies complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Romanian Law no. 506/2004 on privacy in electronic communications.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser when you visit it. They let the site work, remember your choices (for example, that you are logged in or the language you chose) and, if you agree, show us how the site is used.

Besides cookies, we also use similar technologies: the browser's local storage (localStorage) and the memory of the app installed on your phone (service worker). In this policy, we call all of them "cookies".

2. Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies. The site cannot work without them: login, form security, the chosen language, your cookie choice. They do not require your consent and cannot be switched off on the site, but you can block them in your browser (some parts of the site will then not work).

Statistics cookies. They help us understand how many visitors we have and which pages are read, so we can improve the site. We use them only with your consent. Until you accept, no statistics cookie is set and no Google script is loaded.

We do not use advertising, profiling or social media tracking cookies.

4. Third-party cookies

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. Statistics data may be transferred to the United States, based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU–US Data Privacy Framework). Google Analytics does not store visitors' IP addresses. Details: Google privacy policy.

Cloudflare protects and speeds up the site; it may set technical security cookies. Details: Cloudflare cookie policy.

5. How to give or withdraw your consent

  • On your first visit, the cookie banner offers "Accept all", "Reject all" or "Let me choose", where you choose by category.
  • You can change your choice at any time with the "Change cookie settings" button on this page or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the statistics cookies are deleted.
  • Your choice is valid for 6 months; after that we ask you again.

6. How to control cookies in your browser

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings:

If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in to your account or to the learner app.

7. Changes to this policy

When we add or remove cookies, we update this page and the date at the top. If a new category of cookies is added, we ask for your consent again.
