Terms and conditions

Who sells, what is sold, how to order, how to pay and what your rights are.

Last updated: 30 October 2026.

1. Who we are

The GenieUs platform (https://cursurilimbaromana.ro) is operated by Genie.US English Hub S.R.L., tax ID (CUI) 50518158, Trade Register no. J2024020708009, registered office at București, Sector 3, Intrarea Reconstrucției, nr. 8, Bl. 28Bis, Scara 1, Etaj. 4, Ap. 19 (the "Provider", "we"). Contact: [email protected], phone +40749.033.891.

Our role: the Provider sells its own Romanian-language learning services (platform access, lessons, the dictionary, live courses). We are not an intermediary, marketplace or distributor for other companies. The Provider is the seller and issues the invoice for every order placed on the website or in the platform.

These Terms apply to everyone who uses GenieUs: clients (companies, sole traders and individuals who buy), users of a client account and learners. By creating an account, placing an order or using the app, you accept these Terms.

2. The services

  • Lesson access for one learner: monthly or for the 6-month programme (paid in full or monthly, depending on the package). Company packages are chosen by the company's number of learners; there is a dedicated package for individuals.
  • The "Româna mea" dictionary: included in the learner's access or as a monthly subscription, as shown on the "Packages and prices" page and in the app.
  • Live courses with a teacher (group or one-to-one): by written quote only.

Package descriptions, what they include and prices are on the "Packages and prices" page and in the client account, when ordering. The services are used online, in the browser or in the app installed on the phone; you need an internet-connected device and an up-to-date browser.

3. The client account

  • Companies, sole traders and individuals create a client account. A new account is "Under review": we check it (including the required documents) and activate it before the first order.
  • The account data must be true and up to date. For companies: name, tax ID, registered office. For individuals: name, personal numeric code (CNP) and home address, which appear on the invoice, as the law requires.
  • The client account is protected by two-step authentication. Login details are not shared; you are responsible for what is done from your account and you tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
  • The account holder may invite colleagues, with different roles and rights, and is responsible for their use of the account.

4. Learners

  • The company enrols its learners from the client account and is responsible for the accuracy of their data and for having a legal basis to send it to us (see the Data processing agreement (DPA)). Each learner receives their own account in the app.
  • A learner uses only their own account and does not give it to anyone else: lessons, hours and results are personal.
  • Study time is measured automatically, only while the learner is actively working in a lesson, under the rules described on the "How it works" page: inactivity, a hidden tab and breaks are not counted.
  • Any attempt to artificially inflate hours or results (automated programs, several simultaneous sessions, other people working in the learner's place, bypassing the checks) is forbidden. Time obtained this way is not credited and the account may be suspended (section 13).

5. The GEO 32/2026 programme

For courses marked for GEO 32/2026, the platform measures hours per week and qualifying weeks under the programme rule, fixed when the learner is enrolled, and makes the activity reports available to the company. The certificate of completion is issued only when the learner meets all the programme conditions (hours, weeks and tests). The company remains responsible for its own legal obligations as an employer; we are responsible for the correct measurement and for the documents issued by the platform, not for the decisions of the authorities.

6. Prices

Prices are shown in Romanian lei (RON), per learner or per package. The Provider is not registered for VAT (art. 310 of the Romanian Fiscal Code), so the prices shown are final. If this status changes, the prices on the website and in the account show the correct mention before ordering. Prices set in euro (for example, the dictionary) are converted to lei at the BNR exchange rate, and the amount in lei is shown before payment. Companies may agree prices through a written quote. The price paid is the one shown when the order is placed.

7. Ordering and the contract

  • Orders are placed from the client account: choose the packages, add them to the basket, choose the payment method and accept these Terms. The contract is concluded when the order is placed; you receive a confirmation email and the proforma invoice appears in your account.
  • An unpaid order expires after the due date on the proforma (7 days).
  • Written quotes are valid until the date shown on them; accepting a quote online creates the order, on the quote's conditions.
  • Credits in the company's balance can be used when ordering; an order fully covered by credits is treated as paid immediately.
  • Individuals confirm when ordering that they request immediate start of access (section 11).

8. Payment and invoice

  • By card, online, through NETOPIA Payments. Card details are entered only on the secure NETOPIA page and never reach us.
  • By bank transfer, to the account on the proforma invoice, quoting the order reference.
  • The dictionary subscription is paid monthly, by card, until you cancel it. If NETOPIA saves the card at the first payment, the following months are charged automatically; otherwise you receive the payment link in time.
  • The invoice is issued electronically once the payment is confirmed, sent to the RO e-Factura system where the law requires it, shown in your account and sent by email.

9. Delivery and start of access

The services are digital: nothing physical is delivered. Access is activated once the payment is confirmed. For companies, purchased accesses appear in the client account, from where they are assigned to each learner; lesson access starts on the learner's start date, and an unassigned access starts automatically 30 days after payment. Details are in the Delivery policy.

10. Cancellation

An unpaid order can be cancelled at any time from the account. The dictionary subscription can be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the paid month and the next month is not charged. Details are in the Cancellation policy.

11. Right of withdrawal (consumers only)

  • Consumers (individuals buying for themselves, including learners who pay for the dictionary themselves) may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving a reason, under Government Emergency Ordinance 34/2014. Send the request online, from the "Withdrawal from the contract" page, or by email to [email protected]; you receive a confirmation by email.
  • If you asked for access to start immediately and confirmed that you know you thereby lose the right of withdrawal, the right is lost once access to the digital content has begun or once the service has been fully performed (art. 16 of GEO 34/2014).
  • When a refund is due, we return the money within 14 days of receiving the request, using the same payment method.
  • Companies (legal entities, sole traders) have no right of withdrawal: paid access is not cancelled or refunded, except as provided in the contract or the accepted quote.

12. Fair use of the platform

It is not allowed to: copy, bulk-download, distribute or resell the lessons and materials; try to access other people's accounts or data; bypass security measures or upload harmful software; send illegal or offensive content, or other people's data without the right to do so, through support; use the platform for any purpose other than learning.

13. Suspension and closing the account

  • We may suspend an account (client or learner) if these Terms are breached, if there are signs of fraud or unauthorised access, or if an order remains unpaid. We tell you, with the reason, unless the law or security does not allow it. A suspension caused by a breach of the Terms does not give the right to a refund.
  • You may ask at any time for the account to be closed, from "Support" or by email. The data is kept and then deleted or anonymised under the Privacy policy; accounting documents and proof of study hours are kept for as long as the law requires.

14. Support and communications

  • Write to us from the client account ("Support"), from the learner app ("Help"), by email or by phone. We reply as soon as possible, on working days.
  • We send you by email (and to your phone, if you turned notifications on) the messages about your account, orders, invoices, progress and security; they are part of the service.
  • You receive the newsletter only if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time from your profile or from the link in every email.

15. Intellectual property

The lessons, texts, audio recordings, images, the GenieUs name and the app belong to the Provider or its partners. You receive a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use them for learning, in your own account, for as long as you have access. They may not be copied, distributed or resold.

16. Availability and liability

  • We do our best to keep the platform running without interruptions. We are not liable for interruptions caused by internet providers, the user's equipment or force majeure.
  • Learning results depend on each learner's time and effort.
  • Towards companies, our total liability for an order is limited to the amount paid for that order and does not cover indirect losses (for example, loss of profit). Towards consumers, these limits do not restrict the rights given by law.

17. The affiliate programme

Those who recommend GenieUs through the affiliate programme receive the commission under the rules shown in the "Affiliate" section of their account, which supplement these Terms.

18. Complaints and disputes

Send complaints from "Support", to [email protected] or by phone at +40749.033.891; we reply within 15 days. If we cannot reach an agreement, consumers may use alternative dispute resolution (ADR/SAL) through the ANPC platform: reclamatiisal.anpc.ro, or the competent courts. National Authority for Consumer Protection: anpc.ro.

19. Personal data

We process data according to the Privacy policy and, for learners enrolled by companies, the Data processing agreement (DPA).

20. Governing law and changes

These Terms are governed by Romanian law. We may update them; the new version is published on this page, with its date, and for important changes we ask for consent again at login. Orders already placed remain subject to the version accepted when they were placed. If a provision becomes invalid, the others remain in force. The Terms are available in Romanian and other languages; in case of differences, the Romanian version prevails.
